What does your day-to-day look like / what does your role involve?
My role is to help make sure that we’re building the right things, in the right way and at pace. Practically, this involves a lot of prioritisation of requests, managing the backlog, planning work packages, developing scopes for new projects and creating and managing processes that empower our developers to do the best work possible.
What did you do before working at Kobas?
My background is in technology. My previous role was Head of Research operations at a company that has developed its own eye-tracking technology to understand where attention goes online, pioneering the attention economy. This meant I had a strong understanding of media, research and product development, but hospitality was a whole new world for me. Consequently, I’ve taken a couple of shifts at my friend’s pub to help understand some of the day-to-day challenges our clients face.
What’s your favourite thing about working here?
I really enjoy the care that is taken by the company to genuinely look out for their employees’ wellbeing. Flexible working, is a great part of this but, more broadly, there’s a real emphasis on creating the right culture in the company.
