Meet some of the people behind Kobas with our team Q&As. Of course, not every team member wants to be featured on the website (plus there is a lot of us!), but you can rest assured they’re just as great.
What’s your role at Kobas?
Head of Commercial
When did you join the company?
July 2020
What does your day-to-day look like / what does your role involve?
My role focuses on preparing and implementing commercial strategies and budgets in line with the company’s goals. My day-to-day can vary significantly, but I like it that way. A typical week can include catching up with the team on sales and marketing tasks and performance to ensure everything is on track, along with event management, SEO auditing and optimisation, working on website enhancements, copywriting, coordinating integrated partner campaigns, collaborating with our other teams on onboarding and retention, a bit of design here and there…
What did you do before working at Kobas?
I have hospitality experience from my university days, but aside from that, I’ve always worked in marketing. I’ve done some freelancing marketing for startups, property marketing, and restaurant marketing, but my experiences have mostly been within the B2B hospitality tech space.
What’s your favourite thing about working here?
Working so closely with the hospitality industry itself. Not only do I love trying out good food at new spots, but generally speaking, most of us spend a lot of time creating new memories at food and beverage venues. Catching up with an old friend? Cafe. Want to celebrate something with your family? Restaurant. Meeting up with a long-lost relative? Pub. Very few industries can offer the same value and I think that demonstrates how crucial hospitality venues really are. I’m proud to support that and the hard-working teams behind it all by working at Kobas as a hospitality partner.
After work you can often be found…
Eating out, looking for trips away, or binging a crime series on Netflix.
If you could eat only one meal for the rest of your life, it would be…
Gorgonzola Gnocchi or Tuscan Chicken Pasta… something along those lines.
