Meet some of the people behind Kobas with our team Q&As. Of course, not every team member wants to be featured on the website (plus there is a lot of us!), but you can rest assured they’re just as great.
What’s your role at Kobas?
I joined as an Account Manager, then became Training & Onboarding Manager and I’m now Head of Operations.
When did you join the company?
July 2021
What does your day-to-day look like / what does your role involve?
A little bit of everything! I help decide on the longer-term strategy and direction of the business, and work with the rest of the team on getting there. I manage the rollout of new initiatives to make sure things go smoothly and organise company events and meetings, and I help out across sales, account management, implementation and training wherever needed. Ultimately, I try to help make everyone else’s jobs as easy and enjoyable as possible.
What did you do before working at Kobas?
Before Kobas I worked in hospitality for over 15 years. I’ve done a bit of everything across pubs, cocktail bars, bakeries and restaurants, from bartending to managing new venue openings and running a sales and events team! I first came across Kobas as an operator in 2015 and used it to manage a number of venues before joining the team in 2021.
What’s your favourite thing about working here?
I love being a part of everything I love about hospitality but without the late nights and dealing with customers! It’s great to be able to use my experience to help other operators and to see venues do well. Within Kobas itself I really enjoy the freedom and flexibility of working remotely and the opportunities to get out and about where needed, but above all it’s the team that make it – we’re such a good mix of people and personalities and we all work hard but still find time to enjoy ourselves.
After work you can often be found…
Playing steelpan – practising or gigging with my band, Real Steel. Or, if the weather’s nice, swimming in the sea.
If you could eat only one meal for the rest of your life, it would be…
Fresh fish and salad, served on the beach and preferably with a good cocktail bar nearby!
