With the updates we’ve been making to our data protection – most notably to the sections in Kobas Cloud relating to your staff – it should come as no surprise that we’ve extended this to your customers as well.
In the rare instance where a customer would like to delete their loyalty account, this would previously need to be done by a Kobas user with permission to edit customer records. This latest update puts customers in charge of their own data (in line with the ‘right to be forgotten’, specified in GDPR) and allows them to delete it themselves.
How?
All a customer needs to do to remove their account is to go to your Kobas Loyalty Page > Loyalty Portal > My Profile and scroll down to where it says “If you would like to delete your account, please click here”.
Once they click this link, the warning will pop up to confirm the action. Confirming that they’d like to delete their account will remove all their personal data, including their name, email address and contact number.
It’s important to note that this action is non-reversible, so once a customer deletes their account, they will lose all the points they acquired, as well as any vouchers associated with their account.
And with this last update, we can happily conclude the changes we have been making to ensure Kobas is GDPR compliant. If you have any questions, please contact our support team who are always more than happy to help!
