Ingredients

In the Kobas recipe engineering system, ingredients are items that are purchased from a supplier. For example, sugar, olive oil, flour and salt. From there, a catalogue of ingredients can be built with the assigned measurement type, units per pack, measure per unit, cost price and the supplier. This method provides you and your team with the ability to gain granular insight into all stock activity at ingredient level.

Need to change the cost of an ingredient or change the default supplier? All applicable recipes will update with the new total cost price.

Batch recipes

Stock batches use a group of costed ingredients to create a base recipe, such as pasta sauces or dough for pizza bases. That means when building your final recipes for 20+ different pizzas, you can quickly attach the dough batch recipe, rather than starting from scratch each time.


EPoS Items

The EPoS/PLU item is the dish sold on the EPoS and online ordering platforms. Here is where you build your recipe using costed products and ingredients. For example, take pizza dough as your base batch recipe and select the various ingredients for the toppings, whilst adding in the quantity per portion as you go.

Assign different retail prices for various consumption modes such as an eat-in price, takeaway and delivery, providing accurate insight into cost prices, net margins and GP percentages.

Further support includes the addition of allergen, dietary and nutritional information, uploading a customer-facing photo of your dish, and preparation methods for your team.
